1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

    Cheers,

I have noticed the same thing. Such a HUGE variety, and all look to be wonderful work (regardless of one's personal opinion on certain styles). What's really popping out at me is that FINSIH, though. Just look at those monks.

You're right. Normally I would, but since I know I was wondering about the price and hadn't seen anyone else ask I thought this would be more helpful to anonymous guests.

I would certainly welcome some idea of the prices.

I just don't like that blunt toecap/welt finish like Bettanins use instead of rounding it off like a 40s spade sole.

this could be achieved with a bit of sandpaper IMO.

Why the welt is squared off at the toe I'll never understand. When the toe cap of the shoe itself is squared, I understand that the welt would be the same shape. However, many Italian makers prefer to use a square shaped welt with the rounded toe. What an odd choice. However, as Hendrix says, the extra welt edge can be sanded off (since the stitching is nowhere near the square edges. Sandpaper will take forever, so a sander is a great solution.

It really depends, he has lots of work but give him at least 4-5 days to get back to you and if you haven't heard from him email him again

August, particular the second half, is the traditional holiday period in Italy and it is quite possible the workshop was closed.

Now September has come, all business should be back to normal.

Could someone tell me how much he charges for semi-bespoke? I would be very thankful.
