Hi, my first post on SF will be about Anthony Delos, the french bootmaker, formerly from John Lobb.

I made a visit to his workshop in Les Rosiers sur Loire, near Saumur and Angers, France. The guy is really nice, and always ready to explain the secrets of his work.

I took a few pictures, both color and black and white, you can find them on the french forum " depiedencap " :

http://depiedencap.leforum.eu/t9955-...-sur-Loire.htm

I also created a page on Facebook " Fan du travail d'Anthony Delos " :

http://www.facebook.com/#!/group.php...9445117&ref=ts

Well, hope you like the pictures, have a nice day.

++

Victor.

He is very skillful and modest.

He used to work for John Lobb Paris and is a good friend of Dimitri Gomez.

If the pound wasn't on the floor ,I would have ordered the austerity brogue I have been dreaming of for years.

Ostrich skin roller blades are a " Compagnon du Devoir " work i think, something that has to be very impressive to win the favors of the jury. Not sure he's selling many of them... Maybe in Las Vegas

They are made and designed to show what he's capable of. An " exercice de style ". And Fritzl, yes he can shape a last from scratch, with this tool called a " paroir ", that's very impressive and physical. Glad you like the pictures, see you, Victor.

I agree with you on that one ! He can size his customers' feet, shape the last from a piece of wood, then draw a tasteful upper design, cut and sew the upper, shape it to fit the last and make an entire shoe from scratch. Truly a real bespoke bootmaker...

He is like Dimitri Gomez ,the Corthay brothers,Suzuki and Tony Gaziano..

Someone was asking if it was worth having a pair of bespoke shoes?

Just enjoy the incredible skills of these guys and look at your pair of shoes being made at every stages...
