Well, it's just a crappy H&M suit I bought to use as a template to have MTM suits made. I'm particularly looking for input on the following.

- shoulders. Do they fit?
- sleeve length
- the whole silhouette
- pants. Need more tapering?

I'm going for the Thick as Thieves look, by the way.

Thanks.

hard to tell why the pants are flaring out like that mid calf, but other then that i think it looks pretty good!

It's probably the hems getting caught in the shoes that makes them look like that.

Also, the chest is a little too big, right?

I think your approach is all wrong, you don't buy a cheap suit to only have it replicated by another suit that can easily cost 5 times as much. The purpose of MTM is to get a better fit than what an H&M suit can provide.

I'm not getting it replicated. I just want to get it right on basic places like shoulders, chest, sleeve length so that I can be confident sending in my measurements. The H&M suit is actually not that bad in person. If it was canvassed and made in some decent fabric, it'd look much better.

One thing about the pants, if you're going for the breakless TaT tapered look it might be that you're pants are slightly long. My TaT trousers do something similar and it's basically they are a tad bit long even though they are still very tapered.

Lel, I'm going for the TaT tapered look but I want a slight break. The next pants are going to be slimmer and more tapered and just a llittle shorter.

Any comments on the shoulders and sleeve length? Those are where I want to get right the most.

Sleeve length is fine. The shoulders look maybe a touch big, certainly your left shoulder. Are you standing in a relaxed position? The clenched fists suggest otherwise... Hard to tell if the chest fits from this photo -- side-angles would help. The quarters are flaring open a bit too much for my taste, which might mean that you could do with a little less waist suppression, or that the seat's a little too tight (or both).

Alright I'm just going off my experience and that is most likely the reason the taper isn't showing very well (if there is one at all).

The jacket:

The left shoulder looks a little off. Judging from your clenched fists and your hand positions, I would say that you're not relaxed under that suit. You're left shoulder is also a little lower than the right. Is that natural, or is it just the way your standing in this one picture? If it's natural, mention that to the tailor. The right shoulder looks good, and the waist suppression looks good, but it looks almost like it is pulling, don't go any smaller. Sleeve length is good, although the right cuff needs some straightening out.

The pants:

The thighs look good, but as others have pointed out, something is out of whack at the calves. I would recommend getting slimmer pants next time, and definitely shorter ones. Give us a picture of you without the jacket so that we can see how the pants really fit. I hate seeing guys who have jackets that fit well, and then pants that sag so much that you think they are wearing diapers.

**Ok, literasyme basically covered everything I did. I really should read more of the previous posts before I make my own. But congrats to literasyme for being as smart as I am!

Also, the sleeves don't look as smooth as they should, but maybe that's a combination of fabric and the seemingly unnatural fists pose. Judging by the one picture, the cut of the jacket is good.

I think if you want the TaT silhouette you got it with the exception of the tappered pant. It does pull a bit but that's what the TaT look is. I don't think the shoulders look big from the front but a back shot would be good. And with the few ideas mention you should do well.
