Well, I did something very stupid last week. I normally leave my shoes on a rack under the window. The problem is that I forgot that the dry season was over and.. I guess you can imagine. I left the shoes to dry for 24 others, then I stuffed it with newspaper to get the extra moisture out ( I forgot to use the newspaper on the first day). Now it seems ok but there is a sort of "water stain" (see picture). I don't know if I should just polish it with the usual Kiwi paste or if there is something else I should do. (will it be bad to polish it as it is?). On a side note, it bugs me that an English shoe could have such problem with water. Although it caught some rain, I don't know if the amount of watter would be much different of stepping on a deep puddle. Is there something wrong with this particular pair? Something I should do besides polishing? Could this be something that happens to any light brown/tan shoes?

It's barely noticeable, will dissapear after a layer of polish. Soak any leather halfway and see the results for yourself...English made is not relevant on this matter.

Wipe them with a terrycloth with vinegar. There appears to be salt staining.

How do you prefer trousers to be finished?

  • Plain hem

  • Cuffed (1.5 inches or less)

  • Cuffed (more than 1.5 inches)

  • No preference, as long as the proportions work
