Then why not just buy the original? RL knocks off a Barbour coat(made in HK) and charges More for it than Barbour charges for the original.

Except the Barbour is now made in Poland, and you can by the RL version, made in Italy out of nicer materials, on eBay for less than the Barbour.

Also, I was thinking of things like navy blue cashmere v-necks. Who makes the original? Is the RL version any less original than one from JCrew? It comes down to quality and fit in my mind, and because of scale, it's often easy to find RL drastically reduced.
