So I got my first Jantzen today. Here it is:

There are some glaringly obvious problems, but I'll leave pointing them out as an exercise for the reader.

Yeah, that breast pocket looks awfully low and huge.

Get a razor blade and take that pocket off, asap! That's hilarious.

How do you like the fabric? Which one is it?

Yeah, the pocket is ridiculous. I'm guessing they somehow made it proportional to the length, which is obviously way, way too long.

The fabric is "#11 Super Fine White Plain Cotton, 140's, 2Ply, 100% Sea Island Cotton". Of those descriptors, "Plain" and "White" and "Cotton" are quite accurate. Really it's not bad, but it doesn't even come close to what I normally get from Ascot Chang. It's a little stiff and doesn't iron beautifully, but for a $40 shirt or whatever it's not bad.

"tent-like" is the way I'd describe it. Better bring it to a local tailor and have it fixed.

May cost more than the shirt itself.

If I were the OP I'd get OTR shirts.

Definitely not worth it for such a cheap shirt. I have a few dozen MTM shirts from Ascot Chang that fit quite well, though I'm guessing they might be described as "tent-like" as well.. I have a 42 inch chest and a 40 inch waist. I'm pretty sure there's no shirt made that would make me look trim and lean. I mostly ordered this shirt in order to try to find a place to cheaply buy more interesting or colorful patterns than I'd normally be willing to order at $200 a pop.

I have to say, I am not terribly impressed with the Jantzens. The fabric seems very thin, and there's no excuse for the pocket being that low, when you gave them all your measurements.

I'm a little bit skeptical of MTM shirts to begin with. You probably know more about them than me since you have several dozen. It seems like a lot of the guys getting the bespoke shirts are very skinny and consider OTR slim fit to be insufficiently slim. I don't necessarily want to go for that look, but I understand why they need to order MTM shirts to achieve it.

However, your shirt looks similar to an OTR traditional fit shirt to me. I'm guessing, given the commitment you've made to custom shirts, you find regular shirts deficient in some way. I'd be interested to hear your reasoning.

It seems that most OTR shirts are cut for your measurements. Like others, I'm curious what you're seeking in MTM shirts. The pocket is awesome

I'm overweight and nursing a beergut as well, and OTRs don't work for me. I've had a few made by Jantzen but they don't have that much looseness or extra fabric when I wear them. Did you have the measurements copied from your AC shirts?
