I think you look better clean shaven but I'm not a fan of goatees in general. Too 1990's looking. Either go clean shaven or grow a full beard.

Yes, it makes the lower half look as old as the top of grey hair. Save the beard for when you're older.

Grow a Van Dyke, I wear one as opposed to a Goatee, but for what its worth the goatee suits you.
