also, as far as their denim. I like it as much as the next person. Just be aware, ive owned like 4 pairs at various times and the measurement never matches the website fully. The rise has always been shorter and the waist sometimes a full size smaller. My advice would be to use the website measurements as a general guide and order the size that you think you are and maybe 1 size up.
They do stretch with wear, but one of my pairs was so tight in the waist I could barely button it and was unwearable.
Funny you should say this, I have two pairs in waist 31 (I would normally be 32/48) but recently I've found they feel as though they have shrank a little in the thigh, I'd say they also shrank in the waist but It's more likely I've grown in the waist during lockdown haha.
I am going to buy a dark rinse pair soon and I may try a size up.
Did you ever try them when they offered them mtm?

I had no idea they had ever offered them MTM. That’s pretty cool. I wonder what the upcharge was?
And I normally wear a 30 or 31 in the waist depending on brand. I ordered two in a 30 and they had the waist measurement of the 29. So I couldn’t really wear them. I now have a pair I bought second hand in a 31 which fits me, but the rise is slightly shorter than the measurements on their site. Which is a bummer since that’s the main thing that’s hard to get in a slimmer Jean. There’s plenty of slim jeans with a lower rise.
I also Love all the colors they’ve come out with. They’re all fantastic.

I think it was a while ago, but Simon Crompton wrote about his first pair from them, although in fairness he described them as made to order with some slight alterations just in the waist area so maybe it wasn't fully mtm.

Yeah I really like the rinses too, I went for mid wash first, then managed to get a light one second hand but now I really want a dark pair so probably going to try a 32 and see how I get on.

When I ordered my first pair I tried 31 and a 32 at the same time and there seemed such a huge difference between the two, but it was quite a while ago now.
One of their recommendations was to order the 32 and just get the waist taken in a little (which I guess is what Simon may have done and I've just misinterpreted the article.)

Yes pretty sure what Simon meant is that he got a standard size and then had it altered in the waist.

Ya I’m not going to take in the waist of my denim. Not worth it to me.

Levis has a 502 Wellthread in a charcoal color very similar to the new wash from AIC. The cut is fantastic as well, but the rise on a 31 was 10 or 10.5 inches. I wish it was more like 11. I find 11-11.5 rise looks way better than. 10-10.5. The measurement is small, but the change inhow it looks and feels is big.

Not sure it would vary wildly from usual C&J sizing.

First piece of A-I tailoring. Not a bad fit for ready to wear.

Does anyone have experience with the sizing of the A-I C&J models?

I have ordered, and received, the Bradbourne loafer in dark brown sided with city sole, in the last 72. I used my normal size, which is 8. Compared to a Cavendish (last 325), it wears a bit more snug in the forefoot. If you have very wide feet, that might be an issue. In which case you might want to consider the Shipton Wilton, which is also made by C&J on the last 72, and is available in G width.

I don't find the initial snugness of the 72 last on a suede loafer an issue, as suede will naturally give in a bit after a little wear, and you wouldn't want a loafer to become too loose.
