Anglo-American shoe damage

I've been on a bit of a shoe spree this month, so I figured I'd share as this represents a significant increase in my shoe holdings.

First, Made in England shoes:

(l to r, Grenson, C&J for Polo, Grenson)

Next, Made in the USA shoes:

(vintage Florsheim Kenmoor longwings, vintage Nettleton Bedford model, Allen Edmonds Bradley in chili)

These Nettletons are interesting to me. A different color than is usual, a burnt umber. Also note the hint of shovel sole a la the J&M Hand Mades, though not as pronounced:

This is like the budget version of aportnoy's shoe damage threads, and I mean that in the best sense of the word. Truly inspirational!

Yes, very much a budget version (I certainly take no offense), but all are high quality Goodyear welted shoes.

Are those Polo shoes the Benton captoes in the "burnished tan" color? I thought they looked light in the photos, not a different shade.

Very nice; glad to see vintage Florsheims instead of the current ones.

I think these are old enough to predate the current Polo models. They are a true tan shade, which Polo expert extraordinaire jamgood calls "Polo tan". I don't know that I would call them "burnished" as there really isn't much if any antiquing on them.

Those Polo cap-toes are still my favorite. That color is just beautiful. What more could you want in a shoe? Nice to see the ribbon laces once again ensconced in their proper place.

Very nice collection! I especially like your eye for diverse colors. Each of your captoes is a different shade and can therefore serve a different purpose. I've recently become sensitive to this after realizing that most of my brown shoes appear to be 1-2 different shades.

Yes, you were convincing. They brought the formality level down a bit on them, and with the color and brogueing, I hope to dress them down with cords, etc.

Thinman, yes, I was pleased with the diversity of color, too. They each bring something a little different to the table. I also have a pair of pretty straight forward dark brown AE Fifth Avenues if the occasion calls for it.

For my point of view the laces do not fit to the Polo's.
Why flat laces on an oxford? And the colours seems to have a different tone than the shoes.
