interesting try. i don't think it is any prettier or uglier than any other spectator i've seen. but then, i don't wear two-toned shoes.

Stone me, I kind of like it. The canvas part could be darker or maybe green though.

i think if i was ordering it for BB, i would have requested a heel counter in leather rather than a canvas heel.

I like Spectators but that one is especially tacky and the buckels don't help it at all.

I'm not much into monk-straps, especially double-monks. Thus, I don't think that Brooks double-monk spectator is something I'd be likely to buy, even at a giveaway-level discount. However, I have certainly seen worse...much, MUCH worse!

But it fits into EVERY category. If it had patent leather it would be the most versatile shoe ever!

They also have these in their catalog in a regular spectator, basically this shoe without the double monk. They look very very nice. These however, are Frankenstein's shoe monster.

Kind of reminds me of Loake's "MadDog" model. Only worse.

    That's one ugly-ass shoe.

With pants hiding the nasty gold buckles, I'd like it.

You think that's bad compared to Mauri's usual creations?

    I like it a lot.

I wouldn't buy it for my second pair of shoes, but my tenth or so? Sure, why not?

(NB: I do not have an office job.)

EDIT: I was actually thinking about having a double-monk spectator made up to order a while back, only cap-toe, in brown calf, with a cream or maple leather vamp. My thunder has been stolen.
