I saw a lot of this the past couple of days as I attended a wedding, and now this. 3 of 4 have 3 button jackets, and every single button is buttoned! That's a perfect 11 for 11 average! Batting 1.000. What do you think of this performance?

Yup, that's a suit coat, rolling by itself at the WS. Chaps must be proud, even if the pants had to stay home.

I saw this on TV and almost posted it on SF. I'm glad others noticed.

it might have not been them, it could have been the network telling them to do it.

Honestly I don't think Mark Grace is wearing his own jacket, looks like he grabbed it 5 minutes before air time from someone else.

I saw this over and over at the wedding this weekend too, a lot of 3 button suits with all 3 buttons done. I think guys think of it like a shirt, which has to be buttoned.

I particularly like the second guy on the right who combines the buttoned look with sleeves going down to his knuckles... [IMG]

In the ads for the new Kelsey Grammer show he is wearing a 3btn suit with all of them buttoned and obvious pulling.

    Nice call.

If you were watching closely, you also saw that Bud Selig, the commissioner of baseball, a guy who makes $5 million a year, was wearing a sportcoat with sleeves down to his knuckles on the biggest day of his year. The sac look, if you will.

Honestly I don't think Mark Grace is wearing his own jacket, looks like he grabbed it 5 minutes before air time from someone else.

This is a look I see a lot. Hey, I suppose it could be worse.

Just because it's three sizes too big and the sleeves hang down to his knuckles doesn't mean he doesn't like it that way![IMG] (Seriously: when I sold suits, this is how a lot of the older, rural guys wanted their coats to fit.[IMG] )

Last week at Wilfred's (NYC tailor), there was a young man who was so pissed at the tailor that his face was a bit red. He was standing there with the 3 buttons of his (vastly oversized) jacket all buttoned and was complaining that it didn't "fit right". That the shape was no good, etc... Ramon (the tailor) tried to unbutton the bottom one and the top one saying that the 3 buttons shouldn't be all buttoned, but that idiot said he didn't wear it that way and re-buttoned everything, then stared in the mirror shaking is blood-filled face !

Sometimes, I really feel for these service people who have to cater to complete idiots...

I saw that and I couldn't tell whether it was an overcoat or an actual sportcoat. But I gave him a pass - it's *possible* that he intentionally wore a crappy jacket because he knew he was gonna get sprayed with champagne. *possible*

Weirdly enough, when I was in London last year, this seemed to be the trend among those in the City, as well as on mannequins, etc in the stores.

My own dad knows hardly nothing about fashion, for almost 20 years I think he only owned 2 suits, tan and black. But even he told me when I was 10 years old, "you never button the bottom button". I said "what? never?" He replied, "NEVER."
