And I thought it couldn't get any lower than the AmJack shirt of his that showed up on Ebay on Sunday.

That would go well with the diagonal stripey shirt you posted.

Though to be fair to Flusser, I have seen pre-tied bow ties from Charvet, Brioni... and many other top brands.

I'll have to agree. The "AmJack" style shirt is a worse offence.

I don't believe that Charvet makes any pre-tied bow ties.

Good Lord! I halfway wore out my copy of "Dressing the Man" when I bought it 4 1/2 years ago. That man seems bent on destroying his credibility with those who are even somewhat sartorially sophisticated!

I have seen some on several occasions at NM as well as a number of them on eBay a while back.

I seem to remember a George Clooney interview, maybe even in the first Men's Vogue, wherein he admits that he actually wears a pretied when arriving at black tie, red carpet events, but eventually retires to the men's room to produce a proper bow tie from his pocket, which he drapes insouciently around his collar. The reasoning being that he can't actually tie a bow tie, but want's people to think he can, and also wants to look like he's let his hair down and partied a bit by the end of the night. He's secret's out now, though! If you ever meet Mr. Clooney in a bow tie, you should challenge him to untie and retie the thing right there on the spot. How embarassing!

I know how to tie a bow tie, and I can make it look good, if I take 30 minutes for the 15 or so attempts to get it close. I wear them so seldom that I get my practice only when I actually have to wear one.

The thing is - those pre-tied jobs don't look much at all like a self-tie and people have gotten so used to the clip-on perfection that they look at you funny, like you scrounged your self-tie from Salvation Army while Mr. Clip-on is now Monsieur Savoir Faire.
