Not sure what to make of this — it's cool and gross to me at the same time.
Maybe it's because when I see old vintage ties like that I imagine them coming thrift shops... Not sure if I could put thrifted ties in my pots (even if they are dry cleaned)

nothing will survive 15 min in boiling water. You could also just use them as decoration and not eat them, first world style.

Old silk ties wrapped around eggs with thread and boiled in water for 15 minutes.
