The constant barrage of thrifting that occupies so much of my time has led me to really wonder about the clothing heritage of my area (central Ohio, specifically Columbus). Frequently I see nice items whose origins lie in long-forgotten stores, and my attempts to uncover a bit of the history surrounding these stores by way of Googling are most often for naught.
I'd love to see some sort of comprehensive compilation of operational and defunct clothing stores, but I am as non-technical as can be. I'd certainly be willing to contribute to such a project through interviewing some of the older sorts in the area who would likely be able to shed some light on these forgotten shops.
The inspiration for this, for those who might wonder, is the "dead mall" culture (I believe one member of the forum is involved in this) that has sprung up.
