In honor of the new system and my hundredth post I wanted to propose an idea that I have been mulling over for some time: Namely that we should have meet-ups in New York and San Francisco (and maybe other cities) at regular intervals –say quarterly if not bi-monthly. The ambassador program is great idea and will truly help to build a stronger community and therefore forum, but I think making the meetings more regular will only improve upon it. For example: If meetings were every second Friday and New York and San Francisco alternated months, people could arrange their travel schedules to be in town at that time, people like Mr. Morel or some of the traveling tailors could have special events/presentations/trunk shows/factory visits etc., people would have that date blocked out so more people would end up attending. Our hobby is very much about sharing with others and WAYWRN can only go so far. Everyone is always complaining about the decline of the forum and this is something that would directly strengthen the Style Forum community. Just look at how much grew out of the old Hong Kong Mafia meet-ups, not just great pictures and I am sure wonderful conversations, but one of the best new men’s stores on the entire planet. Discuss… By the way is anyone getting together in New York Sunday or Monday while so many members are in town for market?
