It's come time for me to admit that these shoes are a size too big. I bought these like.. 4? 5? years ago at Alden DC, and wore them heavily for a year with insoles.
Some notes, and why they're so cheap:
* The color is darker and more even in real life. It's your standard Alden brown suede.
* A few months into wearing them I noticed that the lining was tearing through. I returned them to the Alden store, and they shipped them back to the Alden factory and had them professionally repaired -- they stitched another layer of leather into the heel cup. It's not noticeable when you wear them and there's no extra stitching on the outside.
* The suede has some stains. Nothing that wouldn't come out with a good cleaning, but I don't have suede cleaner and I'm too cheap and lazy to buy some.
* The soles are in ok condition. Definitely have some life left, but you might eventually have to get them resoled depending how hard you are on your shoes.
