How much shrinkage have you been experiencing after initial washing and drying, and subsequent ones?

The reason why I'm asking is because an XS fits me perfectly (tight), but I know that it'll be too tight/short after I wash/dry it. I tried on a size Small and it's a bit too loose across the chest and under the arms, by about 1" inch around the shoulder/arm openings and 2" across the chest. I'm wondering if I'll be able to shrink the Small down enough to get close to the XS sizing.

BTW - I did an initial search and found nothing specific to my question. Most had to do with t-shirts and such.

Also, if it'll help any.. I'm 5'5", 32 across, and 28 waist.

hoodies, not sure, but if it's anything like their shirts, it's kind of like denim, they shrink up to 10% after first wash, so wash a small first before you wear.

I normally wear an Am App medium which fits well after shrinkage, but I found that the medium london thermal hoodie is moderately larger than my medium unlined hoodie after a couple washes each.

The london hoodie is larger than the unlined hoodie, definitely. I could wear an XS in the london hoodie (though it would be very tight). A S in the regular hoodie is quite tight on me after washing.

Seems like Small would my best bet given how much shrinkage there will be. I'll probably wash and dry it in hot as soon as I get it it. Hopefully it won't be too loose afterwards. Also, what colors did everyone get?

I got black. It's really warm! Holds up well in the northeast winters.

We have the same measurements, and the xs fits great on me.

So if you wash but don't put it in the dryer, it actually loosens up a bit? Anyone else have a similar experience?

If this is the case, then maybe I will go XS after all.
