I searched for quit a while and didn't find an answer to my question, and tried the ask a question thread. I've read through quit a few older posts on AA quality control but haven't seen much mention of the fabric changing quality. I bought several 2001 from KGS4 on eBay last year sometime, in large but there just too big. So I went with another wholesaler on ebay (whiteblackt) as KGS4 didn't have anything for sale this time around. The 2001 I got (medium silver 100% cotton) feels allot thinner and and doesn't feel anywhere near as soft as the ones I got from KGS4. Anyone else ever notice that drastic a change between there tees from AA?

A tees are all over the place. I've had smalls before and every one is a different length. Even of the same color they are different lengths alot of the time, its weird. I'm not sure if they changed the material though.

I just took delivery of five 2001 t's from Trendy Blanks, and every one is a different size. Also, they do feel like a different material than the five 2001's I ordered from TB.com a few months ago.

Yes, AA has elevated online shopping to a new level of ridiculousness. On top of the sizing ambiguities that already accompany online shopping in general, AA forces me to gamble on whether the shirts I buy will fit me tightly or just right. I seriously have two piles in one of my drawers-- one for the AA shirts that fit and another for those that do not, and each of those shirts is a size small. Shiiiit.

I also called American Apparel, of course they say there hasn't been any changes and they also called over to the wholesale group to see if they noticed any changes and they haven't either. I know there just tee shirts, but that is the majority of my street wear till I can afford some nicer pieces (IE: madras, ocbd, etc..) If I can find some decent deals on the Alternative Apparel I'd like to try them as well, of if someone proxy's H&M tees.

That's crazy, have you measured the chest to see what the difference in size is? Have you noticed any difference in the fabric with any of them as well?

I met a few people who work at AA, and they regularly change the length of the shirts based on their whimsy. Sometimes a wholesaler will request that their shirts all be a certain length, in which case they will do this, but for the normal plebs ordering online, there's probably little recourse.
