American Apparel changing t-shirt sizing

Bought a bunch of their 2001 style T-shirts in 2007 and 2009.

Just bought a lot more to replace the old ones. The sizing has changed drastically. It's not even close. What was a good-fitting t-shirt is now at least a size bigger, maybe a size and a half. I feel like I'm wearing a tent. Damn, I'm a little angry. I thought this order would solve any t-shirt problems for the next couple of years.

Why would they do something like this?

Agree. You can buy two of the same shirts and they will be different. Wish they would address this.

hasn't been my experience: I'm a big fan of AA 50/50s and 50/25/25s all in the same size and they always fit the same (or always shrink down to the same).

A tees people are like "omg they are so nice and slim!" but they are so short I don't understand how people wear them. I like like an XXS with the length of a S.

You must be like 6'5'' or something, i think if anything they're longer than usual.

I agree, I used to love AA. When I first got into them I could wear a 50/25/25 in size Medium. Then the fit got bigger, and I went down to small. However, some of the smalls fit too tight, and some a perfect.

Lately I have been steering clear of them completely.

My favorite tees right now are J.Crew. They have a new slim worn-in tee that I wear in size small - it fits me better than any tee I have ever owned. Only problem is a lot of their stores don't stock them, so you have to order online, and the pocket slim tees are only available in-store.

If you are slim like me you can also order almost any of J.Crew's tees in size X-Small and it will fit similar (though not quite as well) as the slim fit tees. I love their Jaspe V-neck in X-small.

BTW: I am 5'10, 150 lb

I must be out of proportion, a S fits fine for length for me, shoulders are a bit narrow, but meh, it's a $20 t shirt.

Inconsistency is annoying especially if your paying $20 for one tee. I wear a L but to get the appropriate leg I have to get an XL thus making the shirt looser than I would like .

Too short!?! Are you insane? Perhaps for you, but for the vast majority of the population, they are far, far too long.

Here are pics from the recent Gilt sale. These models are probably 6'2", and the hems are falling literally below their crotches.

In what Universe does this look good? I dare you to find a properly sized t-shirt and polo at WalMart that look worse!
