1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Reply was funnier when I first read it as honky :/

Now it's just informational and what's the fun in that?

$1160 is quite steep for a pair of pents, is that including fabric and all the bells and whistles? Is the fit that much better? I thought CMT was around $600-700?

I believe that was the pre-Armoury / circa 2010 price was around 600 US but I have a lousy memory.

This is correct. I had no clue they had doubled in cost since then. Wow, I am out.

Ambrosi came to my city a year ago for a trunk show (no Armoury-connection there) and the price was 1.000€ including cloth. The store owner said it might be cheaper when you'd visit Salvatore in Naples.

Wow that is a whole lot of money for a pair of pents. For double the price, I sure hope you get double the buttons.

Just as a general comment, I guess I just don't understand why a pair of pants should run you $1,200+.

Did we ever hear back from Foo on his dealings w/ Ambrosi (post the big SF 'nano' blowup)?

I think he settled it with him, after Ambrosi chimed in on the forums. I recall Foo posting that he reached an agreement of some kind. Maybe I just hallucinated that

Resolved as in: a) Foo finally received the promised goods, or b) They're best-buds again?

If my calculations are correct, $1.2k breaks out to about $12 per SF post:

    • 75 posts to bitch about logistics, customer service or price
    • 15 posts to nonchalantly mention how superior they are to your other pants
    • 1 post to say that Mina's are almost as nice
    • 9 posts to knowledgeably mock Foo

The Raven was written when Edgar Allan Poe got to peek into the future, and read this threak.

$1200 is about the same price for bespoke pants from Steed. The issue for me is that it is hard to justify that price for odd pants. I think I accept that same price for suit pants because I have no choice.
