This is a link to the Thayer monk strap that they are selling for $110 in either freakishly small (6.5) or large (15+) sizes. There are many other deals on the site, so check it out if you're in the market for some AEs.

^ I grabbed a pair of the McClains that forum member shoe was selling and I give them a big thumbs up. They have a much sleeker profile than most Allen Edmonds I have seen.

Should I size up or down for a Thayer? I wear 11D in AE Park Ave and Burton.

Also, what can I wear this calf monkstrap with? Jeans and a t-shirt? Dressy clothes? Usually, the calf comes off as too dressy but I was wondering if I can pull it off with jeans/shirt to go out in....thoughts? The suede seems to be out of my size.

I ordered the brown for with jeans. Based on the color in other member photos, I think they will work well.

According to aeclassics.com, the 8 and 3 last have similar sizing, so I ordered the same size as my ae chester (12d). I own the pa in the same size as my chester, but probably should have gone a half size down and one width wider.

that might be the old 8 last that too the "casual orthotic", not the new 8 last. iirc, the 1, 3, 4, 7 and old 8 last, which all co-existed circa 2000-2005ish, also all fitted very similarly. the 3 differed the most in being the biggest in the toe box.
