I just noticed amazon has a sale on shoes and accessories over 150$ for 30% off. You can pick up new AEs for ~200$ at that price. Not quite as good as you can do on Ebay, but Amazon allows returns and no waiting for the right size/style/color.

"Get your gifts on time and save 25% on $75 orders and save 30% on $150 orders of select shoes and accessories sold by Amazon.com. Does not apply to items sold by third party merchants on Amazon.com. See restrictions. "

On Amazon's website, with regards to the Fifth Avenues, is there a difference between the 'Brown' and the 'Burnished Brown Calf'?

I don't see the simple Brown listed on AE's website, although on Amazon there is a price difference and what may be a color difference (although that may simply be the differences in the photographs).

You may want to phone AE before pulling the trigger just to be sure. They have funny ways about assigning non-confrontational names to corrected grain.

That was a good suggestion - I contacted a service rep at AE and she stated that some time ago, they offered the Fifth Avenue in Burgundy calf leather. That may be what I happened upon. Alternatively, the pair I purchased came from Amazon directly and they may simply have their own photos and prices. Time will tell.

Thanks--I get e-mails from them all the time about nonsense. This would have been one I would have wanted to see.

This. I so get tired of their bad algorithms. I looked up a drill press on the site in 1999 and have been getting notices for industrial tools ever since.
