Am I nuts for buying the same ties in different colors?

I've recently bought several different ties in the same pattern but different colors because I liked them so much. (I also have some knits, grenadines, flannel, cashmere, and cotton ties in different colors but they are solids so it's not the same). Does everyone else do this?

I am now considering an entire wardrobe of the same 4-5 ties in multiple colors. Is this madness? Have I been infected with the mafoovirus?

Zegna (I think I will get this one in Navy, maybe black too; I've seen it in rust and olive as well):

H&B 50oz (I regret not buying the brown one):

Nope. I have done this thrice.

Edit: a wardrobe ala mafoo may be a little much... And solids, knits don't count in my book, has to be an actual pattern for me to even register that I've bought the same tie.

If you find a pattern that you really like, I say, "Why not?" The first ties I ever bought with my own money were two of the classic Brooks Brothers repp ties, one primarily red and the other blue.

I haven't done this (because I don't wear ties that often) but think it's perfectly reasonable.

All those ties are radically different from each other and could never be confused for one another. The only commonality is a classic pattern.

They're alright, color makes it very different from each other. I'd say you're nuts only if you buy exactly the same tie over and over.

Seems like a harmless mutation of it.

FWIW, I was tempted to buy multiple versions of some Richard James striped ties a while back.

Well if they're in different colors, they aren't the same tie then are they?

Well if you have two ties, regardless of color, they also aren't the same tie.
