I don't think that you are crazy, the idea is cool but I don't think that Allen Edmonds executed this design properly. They look a little sloppy to me. But to answer your question about wearing them, I wear my gray loafers with just about every color pant that I have. The only thing to stay away from is wearing a pant that is similar gray to the shoes. Look to contrast.

They are OK if you have ALL your basics covered. The seller is an awesome SF member.

Regards.

I agree that these aren't the best execution... but AE is all I can afford now so I'm not even looking for anything better as I know I'll splurge if I start looking. I had an eBay screen for AEs in my size and these showed up. They reminded me of a similar shoe I saw at Barney's a few months ago. Great blog btw. I added it to my RSS feed of style blogs a few weeks ago. --------------- To the others who replied: Thanks for your brutally honest opinions. Gotta love SF!

I would like them a lot if they were in a different color.

Understandable. If the price is right then I am not mad at you. Glad that you enjoy the blog, I appreciate that.

Crazy? No.
Of questionable taste? Perhaps ... unless you decide not to buy.

Constructive enough?

+3.

I used to have a pair of grey shoes when I was younger and every time I wore them I felt odd.
