Alternatives to EBay for selling clothes

I want to get rid of a few clothing items, but I don't want to go through the trouble of photographing and posting my stuff on EBay. Are there any good alternatives? When I was in college, I sold some of my stuff to Buffalo Exchange, and, although I didn't get much, I accomplished my main goal of getting rid of items I no longer wore. I wonder, are there any Buffalo Exchange's in the Bay Area? Or perhaps, does anyone know of any alternatives to Buffalo Exchange?

I thought about putting the items on the salesforum, but that would still require taking photographs (right now my digital camera is down), and posting everything online. Plus, there is no guarantee that I will get any takers. At least, if I sold my stuff at some consignment shop, it would surely be taken off my hands.

Unless you are selling stuff new in box (and even then), you are going to need to take pics in order to move it. Or go the thrift consignment route.

But listing here is free. You might get takers, but you certainly won't if you don't list 'em.

I have heard of some people getting tax deductible charitable donation receipts from Goodwill or Salvation Army for used clothing donations. Depending on the amount they issue (and your tax bracket), this can be a more profitable alternative than selling used stuff that's not likely to generate much cash.

There are also high-end consignment shops or those eBay drop-off shops where they take a commission.

You could try an ebay drop-off, but I think most of those places do something like:

Ending Price - Ebay/Paypal Fees - 60% Commission = Your Profit

There is one in Menlo Park, quite near Atherton, called Afterwards. Also, San Francisco, and Berkeley have a store called Jeremey's.

I will check out Afterwards. I have been to Jeremy's before, but you can't sell your clothing to them can you? I am looking for a place like a Buffalo Exchange (except maybe higher end) that I can sell my items at.

Yes, Afterwards takes a rather high end stock such as Loro Piana leatherwear, Vuitton luggage, and Chanel suits.

I don't know about the policies of Jeremy's as I've never done business with them.
