Alternative to C&J Lowndes

Is there an alternative to the C&J Lowndes in Brown. Exactly the same styling but priced a little lower than £300. (ideally around £150)

I can't seem to find anything at the usual places, Herring (the Shakespeare model is £225) or Shiptons.

Agreed, but right price point. Personally I'd get the Lowndes if I was double monk inclined... I'm not and would go for the Saville

I also fell out of love somehow - if they were less pointy - on the 337 last for example - they would be great...

They make a model on the 337. It's the Repton, which is sold by Ben Silver. I'm not a fan on that store.

Just how pointy is the 348? I'm considering the Drummond but take a 9.5E sizing (IMO pointy shoes can work, but look better in smaller sizes). May swing back to the Clifford as my next purchase.

Call the New York store. There's a double monk on 337 last, handgrade quality, available in brown and black. If you know your size they may be able to ship it. I think it's called the Seymour.

Trickers has some very nice ones as MTO option (not as expensive as you might think) and if you're a 7.5 UK check their eBay shop now.
