Altering shirt cuff button: How snug? Any rules of thumb?

Since I have tiny wrists, I will have to alter every shirt I ever buy to have narrower cuffs. So, I am going to learn to do it myself. On my MTM Cego shirt, Carl accommodated the cuff for the thickness of watch I wear (How cool is that?) Close fit: You have to"peel" the sleeve back to check the time. Just how snug should it be? 1 finger width? etc.

If the sleeves are the correct length, the cuff diameter is more a matter of personal preference. I like a cuff that loosely encircles my wrist, allowing for freedom of movement without fitting like a bracelet. The finger's width clearance sounds about right.

The sleeves look good to me, the right lenght and pleanty of room not to big but not too snug. You have just enough room to fit a watch underneath and without being to tight to do so.

Did you mention to Carl that you wear a big watch when he was measuring you?
