Alterations tailor in New York City

Hi everyone, sorry if this has been covered before, but I couldn't find it an answer using the search tool.

Anyway, I'm looking for a good tailor in Manhattan (preferably open saturdays) to take some nice items I purchased online for alterations. Thanks.

I was wondering: if I want to get my shirts altered, should I not bring it to a shirtmaker (who can assess proper fit), rather than a drycleaner?

Covered many times. I use Wildred's on the south side 23rd between Fifth and Sixth. Perfectly serviceable, medium prices and will actually give you their opinion when asked, which a dry cleaners/tailors won't. They've been named in threads before, so if you need more details, do a name search.

Interesting that two of the people on that list use Ignacio's. Perhaps it's simple geography. I used them once, but I'd hardly rush back. The work was OK, but hardly fabulous, the turnaround time was slow and, while I'm not sure, I feel that one of the sleeves on one of the suits I brought in is slightly longer than the other sleeve.

I ve never used a tailor before. I live in New york city. I m sure some of you here must too. I was wondering if you could suggest some reasonably priced tailors who could alter the waist line or size for some slim fit shirts I bought. Not suits or pants...just dress shirts. Thanks
