Is it possible to alter the pants at the thighs area?
Have been to few tailors & they rejected citing that the shape of the pants would be lost.
Thanks

I have had the taper changed on a pair of Armani suit pants before becuase I needed the length shortened and the end result would have made the pants look "chopped off". The end result was great. Now what exactly are you trying to accomplish?

Thanks S88.

I wanted to alter the thighs area specifically. Around the pocket area.

Hmm....that's tricky. I can see why those tailors would tell you that. You really run the risk of ruining a pair of pants by trying that type of alteration that far up. What's the issue? Were they previously altered?

The pants are not by my regular tailor. Just wanted to give them a try as they are 20% cheaper than my regular. The pants are a tad too big at the thighs area. Now I regret it. My regular gives me a perfect fit.
