Alligator leather

Hey guys,

I am new to styleforum and would be interested what you think the best tannery for alligator leather for the production of belts, portemonnaies and Iphone covers is? I am not looking for compromises but pure quality, with responsible treatment of animals.

Crocodile farm in singapore is supposed to produce the best leather. They supply to Hermes and many other luxury brands. I am not sure if they supply retail but worth giving them a call.

For everybody interested the name of the company is Heng Long and was just recently acquired by LVMH(Louis Vuitton, Hennessy, ...) although they also sell to Hermes.

Hey got everything I needed. Supposedly there a 5 big alligator leather producers in the world, two in france owned by Hermes, which still buys some of its leathers at Heng Long as they appear to have excellent supplier conditions. I now found out there is smaller one in Switzerland called Swisshides, which appear to be quite excellent as well and have guaranteed CITES-Certification.

Are you confusing alligator with croc perhaps?
