1. And... we're back. You'll notice that all of your images are back as well, as are our beloved emoticons, including the infamous :foo: We have also worked with our server folks and developers to fix the issues that were slowing down the site.

There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

Sutor Mantelassi have just opened a boutique at Grand Gateway Plaza in Shanghai. I stopped by there (on my way back from a shirt fitting at Ascot Chang next door) and managed to get this one shot -

They actually have at least thirty pairs of croc shoes in there, mostly lace-ups in chisel-toe lasts, with some loafers, cap-toes, boots and spectators thrown into the mix. Workmanship is beautiful. Oddly, every single pair in the shop is size 42. Go figure. (The salesman looked quite embarrassed while admitting this.)

Prices generally astronomical, just shy of 60,000rmb per pair for the crocs.

In the window was a restored pair of calf-skin shoes supposedly worn by Marcello Mastroianni in 1965. They also had an amazing pair of button-up balmorals worn by Ezra Pound (of all people) on display inside the store.

My one and only pair of exotic skin shoes (or any other accessory for that matter (except three belts)) made by Polo. [IMG] [IMG]

Got myself these the other day. Like them a lot. Was going to bring them to England now, but seems you need to apply to bring them over the borders.

Bonafe makes some great ones. Snagged a pair from David at Distinctive Footwear a few years back and am still in love. Good share, sir.

Will do! Just fyi, elephant and such can also be ordered. My next choice is probably a button-up with panda-fur lining and tortoise buttons.
