How about some constructive comment's from the astute.

I see the trend going dressier. Maybe because of the job market. Those looking for work understand the need to dress-up. Those working, don't want to appear "dressed down" by those being interviewed.

I think it's all good. Lends to competition, pride and prestige, most important..... performance.

The part that leaped out at me was the nuttiness about vests.

It might get dressier if (a) all clothing gets expensive (cotton prices, higher costs with manufacturing overseas) and (b) people start to make do with & take better care of fewer things.

But I doubt it will get much dressier -- too many of the haves are eager to dress like the have-nots. I don't believe there is much incentive or pressure on many to turn dressier.

More likely clothes five years from now will be the same but dirtier and more worn out.

Yeah, he probably reads this forum.

I started signing with just my first name when I moved to Korea and the alloted area on documents is made for a 3 character name.

He's pretty active over at AAAC too. Wouldn't surprise me. Frankly I think it's amazing and what this type of business should be all about. Besides the QC issues we grumble about, overall I think they're a company others should emulate. I totally take my hat off to them.

The most interesting comment and very apt regarding Ron Rider's comments on the demise of J&M quality hand welted shoes/handmades:

We’re expanding manufacturing capacity with an entirely new shoe production line that will be located in our building on the west side of Interstate 43. This line brings handsewn shoe production to Port Washington for the first time (it’s a different construction than our existing welted shoe manufacturing), and we’ll be able to produce some 50,000 handsewn pairs a year. With the growth in demand for our welted American Classics dress and casual shoes, we will be expanding employment on our welted line as well.
