Matt, I see your pair has a cushioned footbed. Was this factory or part of your custom specifications?
They look wonderful, thank you for sharing both the photos and video and congratulations on your purchase.

The footbed is special order like the Rendenbach soles and the use of the #1 last. The ones off the shelf have a regular leather footbed and are done on the #5 last.

Yes, thanks for sharing the pics! My mind is made up. I'm getting a pair. Matt, nice trousers BTW, loving the combo!

Agreed. Can't swallow them. Just... too much.

I used to have a pair of these but donated them somewhere along the way. It does remind me though that somewhere in the back of my closet I have some AE blue/white spectator loafers.

For my fellow AZ residents - anyone remember the AE outlet on Indian Bend? I miss that.

So is it the use of Nylon that's being objected to?

I can't justify getting these; it doesn't get hot enough out where I am. That said, I've seen these in person. They're really nice shoes.

There are three nylon mesh versions and a light tan linen version.

I like the idea but I would need the leather on the linen one to be much lighter - walnut I'd say. Then I'd pull the trigger for sure.

+1

Except for the "pull the trigger for sure" part.

I like these a lot but I have essentially duck feet with wide toes, would they build more on that #1 last as a special order like yours? That'd be a shame, cuz it just might be a one shot deal.
