There is still work to be done - the images in existing sigs are not yet linked, for example, and we are working on a way to get the images to load faster - which will improve the performance of the site, especially on the pages with a ton of images, and we will continue to work diligently on that and keep you updated.

So I just purchased my first pair of AE seconds based on the numerous good reviews I've read on multiple forums. I received the shoes and they looked great - the only imperfection I could find was a loose thread, so I gladly accepted the shoes. Unfortunately, after a first wear, I noticed the leather really started to look like garbage. I don't know much about leather/shoes but it's as if the leather is all dried up on the right shoe. I've read that you can't use AE conditioner on these bourbon shoes because it will rub off the finish, so I used the AE bourbon polish instead. Anyways, in your opinion, will AE take these back as a return even though they've been worn? I feel like I couldn't know about the defect until wearing the shoes. Before and after pics attached.

Edit: can't figure out pics on mobile right now so here are the images:

I would email/call them to request a return, and send them the pic. You should not have much trouble, AE customer service is very good.
