Stopped by the nearest Nordstrom's last night to see what A-E's and other shoes Nordstrom's were going to be offering at their year -end sale immediately after Xmas. I was surprised to learn that everything being offered were discontinued styles and colors that have been widely available at discounts elsewhere. They have the Bradley in black and chili, the Fairgate in black, chili and merlot and the Dickson in black and chili. In the past, they usually offered current, popular A-E styles like the Byron, Hillcrest or Park Avenue. The prices are up, too--$198, compared to $189 a year ago. I am just wondering if A-E is responding to complaints from other retailers about Nordstrom having enjoyed an unfair advantage over them and consequently is only letting them have items that are no longer regularly catalogued. Any industry insiders like Chris or Rider know any inside skinny about this?
