Does anyone have any info on the Independence Collection? A google search gives nothing.
Any info on what widths will be offered? As or Bs?

Edit- AnGeLiCbOrIs has the only pics I could find.

http://www.bizjournals.com/milwaukee...expansion.html

Read this recently and there a "new high-end line" has been mentioned...

Looking at the pics you posted I gotta say I am not very impressed. Neither design, leather color nor the details (e.g. open-channel stitching) look much more impressive than the existing (good quality) AE products. Wondering what the rest of the line will look like and what the price point might be.

Yeah - I am curious too - especially if they will be made on new lasts.

I also would like to know what "high end line" is supposed to mean...trying to compete with EG and JLP, or just being one notch above the current classic line of AE.

I assume that is what they are going for.

Any new info? I am surprised there hasn't been at least an article or two.

People still use DivX to watch videos on their computers?

My curiosity burns about the shoes, though. I suppose we won't find out until around the end of summer.

Here are some facts about the Independence Collection:

All styles in this collection are named after the signers of the Declaration of Independence. Hence, it's name.
Two slip-ons on the 7 last.
One lace-up on the 7.
One lace-up on the 2.
One lace-up on the5.
They will be 360 welted. In fact all of AE's welted shoes are now being made with 360 construction.
AE went 270 a couple of years ago to give some of their styles a trimmer look in the heel area.
Since then they have developed a 360 process that allows them to give the shoe the same trimmer look in the heel accept using the 360 instead of any 270's. In addition to maintaining a sleek look in the heel, the shoe will be more solidly built.
Upper leathers will be premium French Calf full grain from first-class French tannery.
As I mentioned earlier the lining leather is fantastic. There will be extra padding in the heel and arch.
The padding is high compression for comfort and long wear.
They will be built using combination leather/rubber heels.
Last, there are several aesthetic details that will be obvious when you see the line.

The line is scheduled to be released shortly.

Sounds great. Will they be available in different widths?
