Allen Edmonds Hinsdale (#8 last) a bit too snug on the toes

E Hinsdale shoe, size 10.5 E. I've had these for a week. Is this something that will break in or do I need to find something made off of a different last? The ball on the widest part of the foot is a bit tight too.The rest of the shoe fits fine.

I don't get a nice single crease when I walk. Instead the shoe has 3, one of which is in the very front boroque area of the wingtip. I'm guessing this should not happen.

Any input? Thanks.

They're not too tight, your toes are doing this:

I'm having similar problems with AE. Even the Leeds I recently purchased has a tight vamp than I prefer. I've decided to go the the next size larger and one size narrower to get more room in the toe box. Tapered toes might be de rigueur, but I'm more interested in comfort. If this doesn't work, I'll move on to Alden and try out their shoes.

I'm not sure I understand. Do you think it's a bad shoe?

Bris is a medium-timer in shoes and thus above AEs. As an aspiring medium-timer, I have several AEs I like. Sounds like the shoes don't fit. I wouldn't expect the toe box to stretch.

No, no. Definitely small-timer as I own no AE seconds.

Why don't you go to an AE store and try on the EEs or the next size up in D/E? Seems like the sensible thing to do. I seriously doubt it will stretch much. I had this problem when I wore 9.5Cs and when I switched to Ds it was fixed.

No AE store here but I'll check out Nordstroms to see what size is best. I ordered these through Jos Bank but had to order blindly as they had none in stock.

Just called the Bank... going to return them today and then buy a correctly-sized pair from Nordstrom since they have them in stock to try. It's a shame though, otherwise nice shoes.

take them to a cobler or soemthing and get them stretched a little. I have hte same prob with a few of mine, they fit fine except the toe box is a little tight in the width. about 20 wearings will break in the footbed and soften (plus stretch a little) the leather. A shoe stretching will quickly increase all that.

If you're going to post a pic, at least post the comic with the guy wearing socks with sandals. Though it is irrelevant to the topic, it never gets old.

I've determined that these shoes are complete pieces of **** and I'm returning them to the store.
