Hey, im interested in a pair of allen edmonds size 8.5 (u.s, suposibly). Im a size 10/10.5 in almost everything, so i think they are too small. The thing is that the AE measures 11.5 inches in the outside just like my other shoes. So im thinking maybe they run big. I don't know if the outside measurement is a completely accurate indicator, but if it is then it SHOULD fit.
THoughts? Do AE run big? Should i get them?

    P.S they are wide.

E run pretty true to size. I wouldn't buy two sizes below what you wear. I can squeeze into size 10E AEs even though I normally wear 11D in AE, but I wouldn't even try to squeeze into 9E AEs.

You can't measure by the outside of the shoe. AE run true to size for me, and I don't think any shoes should be different by two whole sizes (even CT shoes).

AE's run true to size. You probably are looking at something with an extended sole.

agreed. I wear a US size 9 in my asics trainer (kayano), and I can just squeeze into a AE 8.5 - would have been better off with a 9.

I agree with the others. I wear US 8D-8.5C and fit an AE 8.5C but no way could I fit anything like a 10/10.5. It would be like clown shoes.
