I just received two pairs AE macneils I purchased on ebay and one of pairs has FR stamped on box and on the bottom of the shoe. I suspect this means factory rejects but am not sure. Can anyone tell me what this FR stands for?

Hahah... You're funny Bjorn. You've asked some pretty marsupialed questions in your days. Not sure you've earned the right to say that with your very very limited experience.

I legitimately didn't know that Allen Edmonds ever marked their shoes with "FR". I know other companies do and some use "SUBS" instead. I've bought 2 pairs of AE seconds in the past and they did not have those marks on them.

Sorry about my ignorance, but again, I really don't think you're in position to say that.

You're still new to SF... you don't have to join the group of overly aggressive ignorant answers that some people give. Plus, most people who answer that way have earned the right to do so in most cases...you haven't my friend.

Keep learning, play nice and try to help others like the OP who might know a little less than you.

To the OP: Was it stated in the listing that these weren't brand new first quality shoes? It should definitely have been stated.

I'm just joking around. I am still a complete noob and ask really basic questions to this day. I honestly did not know they stamped FR as well. Sorry if I offended you.

It was not stated in the listing that these shoes were factory rejects. There were no negatives listed regarding the shoes, just brand new. It appears that the that the two flaps were the laces are( not sure what that part is called )line up slightly to the inside of the shoe. That seems to be the only flaw. Other than that they look great and fit just right. I don't think the flaw is noticeable, so I'll probally keep them. I paid $135 for the black pair and $150 for the burgundy pair. Still, it's BS that this flaw was not noted and even though the price was right, I think other bidders would have not bid if they knew this. I will take this up with the seller and ebay.

If you like the shoes, were happy with the price why worry about it. Just enjoy them. What's the big deal?

If I was getting new AEs for that price on Ebay, I would assume they were seconds.

You're right, but I don't think deliberate deception should go unchallenged.

Agreed--that should have been disclosed (or the stamp should have been clearly visible in any provided pictures).

And I don't think OP should have to assume that he was getting seconds because of the price (especially if it was an auction).
