Here's my AE sizing journey:

Brannock device measures me as 11D, but not entirely clearly. Shoes in question are the Park Ave (5 last).

I try on the 11Ds, and they fit pretty well, but I don't like how large the gap is in the laces.

11E looks great but feels a little big; there's some slipping that happens.

10.5E fits well and looks good in the store, so I buy them.

However, once I'm actually wearing them, as the day goes on the right shoe starts to feel too snug (I might even have my big toe occasionally stepping on the welting) while the left shoe feels good. I'm basically positive that my right foot is larger based on this and the fact that the laces close more on my left shoe.

My question is what the best solution for this is. I see a few options:

10.5E is out, sadly. My right foot is just a little too big for them.

11D might start to look better after the leather breaks in/expands. Another option would be to get them stretched a bit, but would that make much difference in the aesthetics of the lace gap?

11E seems reasonable if that won't do the trick. If necessary, I could put in some sort of insert to use up a bit of the space, but I'd prefer not to. I also think that, after seeing how my foot expanded in the 10.5Es, the small amount of movement/slippage might cease to exist after I've been wearing the shoes for the better part of a day.

What do you guys think?
