4th day wearing my AE Strands.
I've only worn them indoors at work and look at the soles, the front is chipping off.

What size would I be in the dalton and bayfield? For reference I am a 8D in Alden Cap Toe Boots. I've been scouting ebay for a pair in size 8 or 8.5 black for around $100 for awhile now.

well, its not chipping off, its probably wearing a bit, which is natural. the toes usually wear quite a bit at the beginning then level off once the sole has softened up a bit.

The PA and Neumok do NOT fit the same.

Couldnt agree more -- for me personally it wasnt enough to return them, but I can see it being that way for others. There is a definite difference!

So my Strawfuts and Players in Snuff arrived today! I'll get some pictures up in a few but heres a quick analysis:

Both are 2nd quality and after seeing the horror stories on here lately I think I did okay.

The Snuff Players (which, fit great btw! got the same size as I wear in my PAs) have a big of wrinkling on the inside of the right shoe. Specifically, the left side of the inside near the ankle area where the vamp is sewn into the sole theres some bunching. It causes the ankle to flare a bit, but really its not terrible and its only noticeable if my pants arent covering it -- it doesnt effect the fit at all. Being a shorter guy I'll very very rarely wear these with pants that arent long enough to cover the top of the show so I think these are keepers!

The Strawfuts are amazing shoes -- very comfortable and I definitely feel a bit cooler/lighter feeling is going to be great for summer days. The only noticeable defect is a "glue" stain on the mesh where the mesh is probably glued and sewn onto the leather right near the toe box. Its a little annoying but not at all noticeable in certain lights. To return for this defect and run the risk of getting a much more noticeable defect doesnt seem worth it. Plus I'm sure I can do some sort of cleaning solution on the mesh to lessen the contrast in that spot. But, again, in really perfect lighting it looks noticeable, but in most dimmer light I really have to hold the shoe in the perfect light to see it.

I'll follow up with pictures in a few. Overall I'm happy - especially considering I wont be wearing the strawfuts every single day and probably would have never bought them for full price.

Okay as promised here are the pics.

Here are the Snuff Player's -- you'll notice in the last pics the crumpling in the inside of the right shoe and how it makes them flare out a bit. But, keep in mind that with my foot in it that flare is much less noticeable than that (as you can see in the first few pics with the trees in)

I love these shoes too, but I would have never paid full price for a shoe I might wear only a handful of times every year. I was tempted but didn't end up getting them because I already have a pair of Strawfuts, some Grenson penny loafer bucks, and a few other "summery" shoes. Great buy!

...And here are the Strawfuts

The "stain" is on the left shoe at the upper left corner where the leather meets the mesh. These pics were taken with a bright flash in a room with bright lighting -- thats about as noticeable as it gets...my eye goes to it, but overall I think its fine. I also noticed the stitching on the heel of the left foot is a on a bit of an angle, but I didnt notice this until taking pics and I definitely didnt feel it in anyway at all when wearing them...so I'm not too concerned about that either...

This wear reveals your walking habits. It is not the fault of the shoe. Don't drag your feet when you walk and don't 'toe tap'.
Also, don't kick cabs, especially in Montreal.
Beautiful shoes, congratulations.

Probably TTS in those AE boots. For reference, I am a 11.5D in Alden Barrie last boots, 12D in AE Daltons. Check with an AE outlet, they may have your size on clearance right now for about that price. Daltons don't come in black, but Bayfields do...

Cambridges today

Damn those always make my heart skip a beat. Can't wait for mine and really believe they will be the flagship of any wingtip collection. Outstanding, and the results of brushing really shows well on your shells.
