Yes, and the fit will vary depending on the type of leather (cordovan/calf/suede/etc.). But even on the same last, there's not much difference between a 9.5E & a 10D overall. Though the change may be enough in one area of the shoe to cramp the toe box or loosen up the heel. So, it's certainly worth distinguishing between the two sizes.

can anyone explain what it means for a foot to be "long and narrow"? doesn't that defeat the purpose of having shoe sizes/widths in the first place? fwiw, i'm a TTS 10D but can also wear a 5AAA as long as the last is ultra long and super wide.

Is there any way to see a mock-up of the brown shell Leeds? How does the brown shell compare to the "truffle" and such that people have posted here? I might be very into this idea.

I would be up for either the brown Leeds natural sole or the MacNeil .... I also love the idea of the brown shell/calf saddle that sounds wonderful

The Brannock sizing is just a convention to facilitate discussion of shoe size. Like labeling shirts Small, Medium, and Large. There is no rule to make vendors adhere to any sizing specs. It's all voluntary. Some shoes run long and narrow because the manufacturer wants a "sleek" look or whatever.

But, really, it's like any clothing label. The size tag doesn't mean much. One company's "Large" shirt can be huge on you while another's "Large" is too small.

AE's brown shell can easily be viewed by locating its brown shell strand.

Last paragraph made me chuckle, only because many times size labels are a total joke.

Earlier today I tried on 3 pairs of jeans - same brand, same cut, same size. 2 of the 3 I couldn't get buttoned (waist too tight) and the 3rd pair fit well in the waist, perhaps even a little roomy. But then the pair that fit well in the waist was 1.5 inches longer on the inseam - making them too long, and resulting in my going 0 for 3. :)

As a heads up for anyone who received a brooks brothers gift certificate, or are looking for a deal on strands, fifth aves, or park aves, brooks has a 25% off plus an additional 15% off today only on all AE made shoes. Those mentioned above come to about $235 per pair. Reminder, they have the combo sole and dovetail heel, different insole, and are most likely not recraftable by AE.

And for anyone who hasn't tried them on, I went in yesterday and fit is really close to regular AE models, maybe a touch more snug.

I'm quite sure those models are fully recraftable by AE.

Just ordered the Nuemora black and Clifton walnut for a total of around $320!

That's an INCREDIBLE deal considering the Clifton's right now at Nordstrom's are $200, and the Neumora go for upwards $340.

AE CSR told me "as long as the materials are available", AE will re-craft BB-branded shoes.

That is my understanding as well. How absurd if this were not the case.
