If he is indeed going to spend much time in court, he really should have a conservative shoe as well, likely in black or dark brown. Just my $0.02

Good deal, AE has fantastic customer service. I just have to Mae sure when mine arrive this week, the lady did indeed go back and charge me $99 instead of $179.

I checkedy credit card transactions and noticed the same thing happened to me, one all and it was quickly corrected. It seems as though there was some confusion as to which models were considered discontinued and subject to the deep discount.

Dark brown and black are his next purchases, he really isn't expecting to spend much time in court these are really for the office.

Everyone has to start somewhere. He doesn't have to cover everything right away. Take it easy and slowly build.

Absolutely! In fact he considered buying a second pair of shoes in bourbon but I told him to wear these a bit because In a month he might wish he had dark brown or black instead of bourbon or a cap toe instead of a wingtip, etc. he can't afford it all at once so I told him to be really picky for the first 3-4 pairs. Then once the basics are covered he can really have fun and add variety.

Hey Bucksfan, just going back to this October posting, did you Topy these, or leave them as (double) leather sole? Curious, as I bought mine this past July, so haven't yet had to wear them much in the rain...

Good plan - and good luck! a 5 pair rotation will last a long time, the extra time to breathe will make a huge difference. P.S. life is all about the gravy.

A good beginning, I'd also think about adding a burgundy or two. As a new lawyer, he's probably going to be working long hours and never in the courtroom. Good captoes and balmoral wingtips will serve him well. A 3 pair rotation should be minimum.

No topy - I don't really go outside much for my normal commute, so they they have plenty of time to dry. Plus, if I will be outside in lousy weather, I've been known to wear boots and/or tingleys. In my experience, the double leather sole really does a good job by itself.

How about some more collection photos? Here's mine: (forgive the non-AEs). I tried to get some good pics, but with the overcast day I had to use flash to get the color differences.

Looking to buy it in a size 11D if anyone knows of a site.

    Thanks

Saphir Neutral. Started with 2 coats renoventeur, 3 coats light cream then this is about 35-40 light light coats of wax, tons if elbow grease.
