1. Welcome to the new Styleforum!

We are currently fine-tuning the forum for your browsing pleasure, so bear with any lingering dust as we work to make Styleforum even more awesome than it was. I'd like to keep you abreast of the improvements we've made over the past few days.
@notification emails have been added, in response to user requests

Attached images are now Full Size by default

Users are now all allowed three (3) links in their signature files,

SSL certification is now in place so you can all browse securely.

The server has been reconfigured so that site speeds will improve.

Notice: Right now the site is slow because we are fixing all the images from the past 4 months. Many of you noticed that these were missing, and we are fixing that problem now. Unfortunately, it is taking up a lot of resources and causing the site to be slow.

Oh, and don’t forget to head over to the Styleforum Journal, because we’re giving away two pairs of Carmina shoes to celebrate our move!

The shoebank always has seconds available, but the list they send you is the entire stock of 2nds so they may be stocked at a different location than you are talking to. If you order them, they will ship them to you directly from whichever location has them. In my experience the price listed is always the "current" price reflecting any sales that may be happening at that point in time.

Here/AAAC. Though I think there's a mailing list a SA can put you on.

Any SA's reading this, please add me, cdmcallister, to the mailing list that Shawn mentions.

    Much appreciated.

They were firsts. I'm going to see if I can't exchange them.

I emailed them for list of shoes in my size. Do they usually answer emails? or should I call them?

You actually have to email the shoe bank or one of the outlets and ask them to add you to the mailing list by giving them your email address. Email them at shoebank@allenedmonds.com or go to AE's website and do a store locator search to find the outlet nearest to you and call or email them to ask them to add you to the mailing list. Any outlet will ship to you, so it doesn't have to be close by, but if there is one near you it is good to build a relationship with them.

To be clear, this is a different mailing list than this one, right? How do we refer to it?

I was under the impression that the one you linked to is for regular AE notifications (not seconds).

Yes, different. The email on the website will get you retail store events and sales. Seconds from the outlets is completely separate.

I need to give two enthusiastic thumbs up for the great & courteous service at the new Philadelphia store.. I ordered 3 pairs of shoes this week from there, unfortunately I didn't get a chance to drive in this week. Now I have a reason to drive into the city more often. It's going to be dangerous to my wallet.

It's okay. If your wallet can't take the action, they sell wallets too.

Don't see these on the website yet, but my local store had them on the front table. Sales guy said they just came in.

(shoe on the right is a Neumok)

Looks like a suede McAllister with a red Vibram sole. They feel a bit more sturdy (ie not "unstructured", and it's apparent in the photo above) than a Neumok and they are lined. I don't remember the exact model name but it's something like Pidaggio. I like them quite a bit and the $260 MSRP isn't too bad. Almost impulse bought them but in the last two months, I've already bought Chili LaSalles, Black Park Avenues, and Walnut Strands.
