Are there any visible problems other than just the curl? Like extreme creasing or anything? Because I would think that once you put the shoes on, you really shouldn't see the problem. If you look at some ads online, some new shoes/boots are sold with incredible curl (say some expensive John Varvatos boots). Unless there's a visible problem, the toe curl wouldn't really bother me but I may be missing something.

Start using the shoe trees, and see if it corrects itself. I have a pair of park aves that I didn't use shoe trees in for the first 3 years if their lives. Just using shoe trees seems to correct it a bit. Eventually, the resole will correct it completely.

I know Johnston & Murphy has a longer history of doing this. They actually have an interesting webpage talking about this: http://www.shoesofthepresidents.com/footwearfacts.htm

Sorry for the tangent but I think it is a nice way for the POTUS to support USA made.

Yeah... Lots of creasing... I'd be OK with that if they didn't look like elf shoes when I'm wearing them!
Anyone have experience correcting the elf shoe crease and curl with just shoe trees and heat from your feet?

assuming the seller gives me a decent refund, how long does recrafting usually take?

Many thanks. Got two, waiting for thanksgiving sale. I am hoping to get a brown longbranch, did not really liked the grey which is on sale for an excellent price.

I have a pair of Bel Airs in a 12D like my other AEs and the last doesn't fit me well. I wore them 3 times and gave up. I have quite a few AEs ( Strand, McAllisters, Weybridges, Park Aves ect) and they all fit well. Not the Bel Airs but the shoe looks good.

I had to go up to 12D from my usual 11.5D in the Bel Airs. 12D fits me great. I wish AE would bring back the Bel Air last and get ride of the 3 last. I like the soft-square shape of the Bel Air. The new 3 last is too square for my taste.

Nice collection! I purposefully didn't hide the shells as they are outstanding. The brown Strands are tempting me...

I like it when someone with a large collection posts their pictures. I show them to my wife so I don't feel so guilty about having more shoes than her...

The brown shell strands and the burgundy shell leeds are the standouts here for me. Fantastic collection!

Great collection! Gator park aves, those have to be crazy rare. Also love the sharkskin. How do the sharkskin and gators feel / wear?

I also like the reverse welt on the park ave's - I assume double sole too?
