As long as we're on a Hale lovefest, here r mine in black. I didn't know they were discontinued.
I just received a pair of Daltons via Amazon through its 20% off sale and $30 gift card. After walking around the house for a bit, I noticed the dark patch on the upper (shown below):
For those who own walnut calf, is this normal? Or should I have the boot returned?
Can someone explain the difference?
How are these different from leather soles? Would there be a comfort difference
Cognac McTavish. This is my first pair of AE. I am pretty excited because they look 100 times better in person than on the AE photos.
My question: I've heard people saying they were going to coat or treat the shoes. Pardon me for being a newb, but what do I put on these, and why?
I wear a 9.5D in regular Allen Edmonds dress shoes and I'm looking to purchase the Allen Edmonds Dalton Boots
I was wondering if 9.5D in their boots would fit the same as their dress shoes.
Does anyone have any sort of idea?
I wear a 10E in the 5 and 1 last; Strand/PA, Bayfield/Dalton respectively. So for me it's the same size but its best to try them on or order a couple/few and return what doesn't fit.
Hey, so I'm not really sure how much space there should be between the end of my toe to the tip of the shoe. I'm wearing size 8 d delrays in the photo, but I think I want to buy 7.5 d fifth avenues from amazon because i can get the shoes with the 20% off discount that they are having. Should I size down or do I stick with size 8 d? I haven't really worn the shoes in public yet, but the 8d delrays fit alright to me..
or should i get 8 n fifth avenues?
Nothing I haven't posted before, but the AE photos are crap. I mean really bad. All of their shoes look better IRL.
Does anyone have photos of Red Neumoks in the wild?
Really struggling to decide if it's worth $250 if i hardly wear them
I have the red Neumoks and wear them at least once a week. It's a fun shoe. I don't have any "in the wild" photos but will take some the next time. Otherwise, here is a pic of the shoe with my red CXL belt and bracelet courtesy of Ed at Hellbrand Leatherworks.
Ha, that's yours?
That's the one photo i've seen around the internet that makes me want to buy it.
How well does it go with Inidigo jeans?
Where is the ball of your foot? The toes shoudn't go all the way to end
I received my brown Cronmoks in the proper size yesterday and immediately applied two coats of Neatsfoot oil per Seer's suggestion. All I can say is, "Wow!" The boots have a well worn and loved look that gives them loads of character. I'd post pictures, but they look identical to Seer's. Now I am debating whether or not to apply a weather sealer.
I really like those and the pictures posted by Chris show them well also. Several of us have treated the rough collection leather with neatsfoot oil to darken the leather. It works well especially on the boots as it also softens the leather. I treated my natural wax McTavish with neatsfoot oil to darken them in an attempt to get them to the color that your cognac are. And they came close. If it was me I would leave the color of those alone and just do normal care. Which for the shoes in the rough collection is to clean them with AE leather cleaner and conditioner and then use a sponge and saddle soap. Hope you enjoy those shoes, they look great.
