I think you can probably do better. PM member allaboutshoes.

Which width did you try on in the 8.5? The D? Did you try the 8.5E?

They look pretty sleek to me. Do they look bulkier in person?
    Ribbing?

^ The stitching, big welt, and leather wrinkles killed it for me. It did look bulkier in person...

Dear Lord, give me self control over the suede moras. Not very practical for the weekdays at the office though

    Could use some advice...

Yesterday I picked up a pair of brown shell Strands. They were covered with bloom out of the box and I took some time in the evening to brush them well. The color that has emerged is much lighter than I expected, almost like a milk chocolate. It is definitely unique, but it doesn't look that pleasing to my eye and I'm not sure what it would go with. I was expecting a much darker brown closer to the burnished brown calf shoe.

Should I return them? Anyone have experience with how the brown shell ages? I know I could apply black wax (sparingly), but I'm reticent to do anything like that to brand new shell.

    Thanks!

Difference between Mora and Neumora? Just different lasts? Also, will AE bring them back themselves or is this my best shot at them?

Yes, they are on different lasts. The Mora is on the 8-108 last. The Neumora on the new 3-333 last. Does not look like AE is bringing back the Mora's anytime soon - they were not in the Fall supplement catalog.

I have a feeling that horsey shoes' running sneaks are made of cordovan...and he has 3 of the same model in different shades of brown. [IMG]

Love the 8 last, but not a fan of the double monk.

Got my pair of Fifth Aves and Daltons- I didn't realize the cap on the 5th Ave is much smaller than the strands. Still going to keep it, but the Strand is definitely my fave AE shoe.

As an aside, any shots of the brown Hamptons in the wild?

I'm not a double monk fan, either, but I have to admit those suede ones look nice!

On the suede monk topic, here are some Tricker's I just picked up. Hope it's not too off topic, but I think they make for an interesting comparison.
