I think we're talking about different posts maybe. Or no?
I'm going for the brown Cronmok - I like the style, kind of an old school distressed look (as soon as I save some money). Does anyone know if the Rediscovering sale will apply to the online site?
They look WAY better than the park avenue. The only gripe i have is the fairly large welt.
+1. I don't like the combination of the square toe and the large welt. By the way, this picture makes the shoe look 10 times better than it does on AE's website.
My biggest gripe about AE is their website photography......I feel like I could look through the eyes of Mr. Magoo and get a better idea of what some of the shoes look like in real life.
IIRC, it does. I missed it last time around (just got into higher quality dress and casual footwear about 2 months after the sale), now I've got 4 pair of AE (3 new, 1 used), and I'm about to turn the corner into some more aggressive offerings (C&J, Meermin or Carmina), so I'm contemplating on the best way to take advantage of the sale. Cheers.
What is the "Rediscovering Sale"?
What does IIRC mean?
"If I Remember Correctly"
Cool - I hope they have it this year - I will wait to buy the Cronmok.
All signs point to yes? You'd probably be smart to wait.
Quote:Looks like a classic case of topline bulge ie: bowing to me. Return them for another pair in the same size. I am a 10D in the 5 and 1 last, except my 3 rough collection shoes which are all 9.5D (including McTavish) and they fit perfectly.
Wearing the Strands today.....the picture makes them out to be darker than in real life. Regardless, what's the polish that's supposed to lighten them? Chili?
I would have to imagine as that's the only next lighter shade from AE that's in the brown family. The only other polishes with which i'm familiar are the saphir lines, and there you get into medium brown, light brown, etc, but i couldn't comment on them turning the shoe lighter.
