I have a pair of Strands in walnut, they are one of my favorite shoes to wear at the moment.

Nope, both the same size. I use the same brown kiwi as I use for the kenilworth. Almost forgot, I bought a jar of AE's cream polish in cabernet brown when I bought the shoes. I've only used it a couple of times however as it doesn't shine like a wax. It is a perfect color match so in the event I scuff them, it will be the right color.

I just picked up a pair of Strands in Walnut. Any advice on shoe polish or cream color and brand to get?

The easy approach is to just get the Allen Edmonds polish in the same color. Neutral polish is okay too, but won't hide scuffs/scratches as well. If you need to get some other color polish, keep in mind that lighter polishes won't affect the shoe color as much as darker polishes.

Not in my opinion. For business attire, it seems perfectly acceptable.

Cream feeds the shoe, and keeps the leather healthy. Polish improves the look of the shoe, and protects it from rain and random nicks and scratches. Both are important, alternate using both :teach:

I noticed on the AE site that the cream only comes in light brown, dark brown, burgundy and black. Which would be the best choice for a walnut color?

General rule of thumb is that you want to match the cream as close as possible to the actual shoe color, or get a neutral color cream.

Hi, first time poster. Great site. Spoke to one of the SA's, they said it will probably be just the standard 15% off.

My recent haul. One pair of firsts, one pair of factory seconds that I couldn't find anything wrong with. Looks-wise, the stitching on the Powell goes too far down the toe which creates a weird curve when viewed from the side. That's one of my main beefs with AE, the styling on many pairs is just a little off to my eye. However, I've got no right to complain for how much I've got into these. They'll be awesome winter shoes.
