OK, but you should still think about how much you're willing to pay. Call the Shoe Bank and see what the price on a pair of seconds would be.

With so little wear, I bet the second pair goes for at least $100, maybe even $135. Which leads to the question about why not just pay $220 and get a new pair from Nordstrom?

The Shoe Bank is selling the Park Ave seconds for $259 which is $40 more than the Nordstrom sale price.

And Nordstrom has a very liberal return policy . . .

    OK, $259 for seconds
    $220 at Nordstrom

This should be the bench mark.

Not true... The 2 for $200 did not include the Park Ave, Fifth Ave, or Strands. They included discontinued models, I can recall strawfruts and bayfields.

Not sure about the last 2 for $200 sale, but previous versions have included Fifth Avenues and Strands. As far as I know, Park Avenues have never been included in this sale.

    MCTAVISH

I wear an 8d in all AE shoes (park ave, strand, etc.)
Mctavish is supposed to be the same last
BUT THE shoes are longer and heels pull out slightly...
    is this normal for mctavish?

The McTavish is a rough, waxy leather. It does not fit as tightly to the last as standard calf and as such will run just a little bit bigger.

To clarify, the Strawfut has been discontinued?

It's listed as a clearance item on the website, but I would not surprised to see it reappear next Spring.

Yeah, but the entire sole, heel, etc measures longer in length, not just the leather part... doesnt make sense

I'm also interested in the mctavish question.

I ordered the elgin (similar to mctavish, last & waxy leather) in the same 5 last size as my 5A's. Would like to know what to expect.

I have the same experience- I ordered the mctavishes in the same size as my other 5 last shoes. It seems to fit well if I wear thicker, more casual socks (vs. dress socks). The most noticable area where it is bigger is definitely the heel. I am hoping that part of the heel slip is attributable to the very thick double soles on this model. Once they break in, heel slip should reduce quite a bit.
